The Pine Tree State Maine has vast pristine national parks and a magnificent rugged coastline, dotted with charming villages, capes, islands, harbours and weather - worn lighthouses. There are windjammer cruises, sunrise and sunset cruises. Most of Maine is forested, providing homes for huge quantities of wildlife including deer, black bear and moose. There are splendid mountains for alpine skiing, cross country ski and snowmobiling.
